Janet Pater

Janet’s husband, Joe W8GEX, is the co-leader of this Dxpedition. Over the years, they have been on many radio trips together. They used to be active scuba divers, so sometimes they took scuba gear as well as radio gear - something that would be next to impossible today because of airline regulations.

Rather than operating experience, Janet is more experienced at helping carry radios, antennas, wires, heavy boxes, amps, and everything else. She’s helped put up, take down, pull, and push, from Grand Cayman, Turks & Caicos, St. Kitts, Grenada, Bahamas, Fiji, Tonga, Honduras, Anguilla, St. Croix, and Montenegro, plus many places stateside.

Janet decided to try to join the fun, and finally got her ham license in 2005. For this Dxpedition, she is helping collect and organize team information, plus anything else she can assist with. She has met many great people in the ham community, and is enjoying helping in the planning of this DXpedition.
